Gulf Group, Inc. has worked with various organizations on numerous projects in the areas of environmental restoration and clean-up. Gulf negotiated several contracts with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to conduct Asbestos Abatement at facilities in Northwest Florida. Projects in Pensacola and Tallahassee, Florida have called for removal of various forms of asbestos during the abatement.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Naval Air Station at Jacksonville, Florida requested Gulf to perform asbestos abatement projects at the Naval Hospital, and to remove asbestos materials from a naval warehouse complex.
Gulf has conducted work for the Department of Energy involving the clean up of a lithium battery and PCB-capacitor burial site in Crane, Indiana. Another Department of Energy project involved Gulf Group, Inc. in the abatement of asbestos roofing materials in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Another area of abatement performed by Gulf is lead removal. Gulf Group, Inc. successfully completed a large, total containment project for lead with the United States Coast Guard at the USCG Station, South Pass, Louisiana.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has utilized Gulf's diversity once again in the area of Life Safety Upgrades. Gulf has completed projects for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Pensacola, Marianna and Tallahassee, Florida. These projects involved the installation of fire protection systems, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
With this, Gulf Group, Inc. is proud to employ a full time Environmental Health and Safety Engineer dedicated to injury prevention, quality control and completion of all projects in a safe and timely manner. For this, Gulf has been recognized for an outstanding proactive safety program from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the "Zero Lost-Time" accidents award, and a Sustained Safety Award from the Corps of Engineers.
